Welding magnets for fixing workpieces
Welding magnets are used to hold workpieces in place during welding and soldering work. They help to fix metal parts in the desired position during the welding process. Components for welding come in many shapes and sizes, which is why we offer a wide range of welding angles and squares in different sizes. This enables very precise work without the need for further aids.
Our range includes welding angles for pipes, adjustable and switchable welding angles, welding squares with many mounting options and mitre magnets. The welding magnet is durable, robust and very heat-resistant. Thanks to its magnetism, it can be reused indefinitely if handled correctly.

What is a welding magnet?
Welding magnets consist of a heat-resistant magnetic core made of AlNiCo and a steel housing. We distinguish between switchable and non-switchable systems in magnetic welding squares and cuboids.
- Non-switchable welding magnets:
Welding magnets that are not switchable are cast into the corresponding angular shape during production and glued together with heat-resistant glue. This makes these magnets simpler to manufacture and cheaper in price. However, they have the disadvantage that the workpieces have to be pushed into the correct position by pulling and pushing due to the permanent magnetism. If this disadvantage does not bother you, we recommend this welding magnet because of its price. - Switchable welding magnets:
These are assembled systems consisting of a magnetic core, steel plates and a switching mechanism. When the switch is activated, the magnetic core inside is turned to a position in which it can conduct the magnetic force to the outer pole shoes – the holding surfaces. When the switch is activated again, the magnet is turned back to a position in which no magnetism is conducted to the surrounding holding surfaces. These welding magnets are a bit more expensive to produce, which is why they cost more. However, the big advantage is that workpieces can be positioned and adjusted before the magnet is switched on. As soon as the system is switched on, the workpieces are held securely by the magnet. When not in use, the system is simply switched off and stowed away. The magnet does not attract surrounding iron parts and is easier to clean.
How can a welding magnet make the welding process easier?
The function of a welding magnet is to hold and secure workpieces during welding and soldering. Magnetic welding angles and squares hold the parts in the desired position and allow for precise, two-handed work. Depending on the size and shape of the workpiece, there are various welding magnets to choose from. Whether you are welding pipes, plates or sheets, you are sure to find the right magnet for your application in our magnet shop.
To make it easier to position the magnetic welding angle, many of the variants are switchable. When not in use, the switch can simply be flipped back to avoid unwanted attraction of iron parts. Welding magnets are cleaned by wiping the holding surface. Due to the heat that is generated, we only use the magnet material AlNiCo, which is also resistant to corrosion.
