Ferrite pot magnets with threaded pin
Our ferrite pot magnets with threaded studs consist of a hard ferrite disc magnet built into a steel pot. The steel pot is equipped with a central external thread, which allows for quick screwing of the magnet. The thread size is adapted to the size of the built-in magnet and varies depending on the dimensions from M3 to M8.
The pot magnet is characterized by three properties: it is extremely strong, robust and easy to assemble.

Ferrite pot magnets with threaded pins and their properties
Pot magnets are also called flat pot magnets because of their flat design and magnetic “gripping” properties. The function of these magnet systems can be explained as follows: The raw magnet made of hard ferrite is embedded in the slightly larger steel pot and the edges are filled with epoxy. This steel casing around the magnet has several functions. It protects the magnet and at the same time shields it by directing the field lines to the open holding surface. This means that no magnetism penetrates through the steel pot to the outside and the holding force on the holding surface is increased.
By the way: You can look up a lot of useful information about magnets in our magnet encyclopedia – including a more detailed explanation of magnetic shielding!
Ferrite flat pot magnets with threaded pins have many advantages over conventional raw magnets:
- Raw magnets are brittle and can easily splinter when force is applied. The steel jacket protects the magnet and makes it more robust.
- Since steel is a material that field lines can pass through, they are focused in a targeted manner, increasing the magnet's holding force.
- Ferrite pot magnets can be equipped with different threads, making the magnet highly versatile.
Ferrite pot magnets with threaded studs in use
These magnet systems impress with their versatility and the possibility of using them over and over again. Magnetism does not disappear when the maximum operating temperature of 200°C is reached, which makes it possible to reassemble and relocate the flat gripper. This makes ferrite pot magnets with threaded studs extremely productive and saves valuable resources.
The external thread allows the magnets to be quickly screwed into place. The versatile application possibilities include the function of a holding magnet for flaps, doors or gates. They also fulfill important tasks in furniture or model making for gripping or holding counterparts. At the point of sale, they help with the presentation of products and showcases.
The holding power of ferrite pot magnets with threaded studs is perfectly adequate for most applications. However, if you want to be on the safe side or only have very limited space available, we recommend using the same type of neodymium pot magnets with external thread.
