Lifting magnets
Permanent lifting magnets are used in steelworks, in metal processing and in shipbuilding to lift loads magnetically. They are permanently magnetic and thus an energy-independent load-handling device.
Our range includes lifting magnets for light loads such as thin sheets and smaller workpieces, as well as switchable crane magnets for heavy loads from 100 kg to 3,000 kg.

What are lifting magnets?
A lifting magnet is a specially developed lifting device that uses magnetic forces to transport heavy loads without mechanical fastening. In principle, a distinction can be made between permanent magnets and electromagnets. We have a separate product category for electromagnets, which require a power supply. These can be found here. Our permanent lifting magnets are, as the name suggests, permanently magnetic and do not require electricity.
Permanent Lifting Magnet Function:
Inside the steel housing, there is an arrangement of several neodymium magnets. These are connected to the mechanical switching function and are moved when the lever is actuated. The holding surface consists of pole shoes that can conduct the magnetic flux. When the lever is in the rest position, the inner magnets are arranged in such a way that the magnetic flux is interrupted. The pole shoes are not magnetic and iron pieces do not adhere to the permanent lifting magnet.
When the lever is flipped, the position of the neodymium magnets changes and the pole shoes are part of the magnetic flux again. Workpieces made of iron, sheet metal or steel are attracted again and held in place.
Particularly in industrial production, in warehouses and in workshops, lifting magnets are indispensable because they significantly accelerate the flow of materials. Thanks to their ability to quickly grasp and precisely position metals, they contribute significantly to increased efficiency.
What are lifting magnets used for?
Permanent lifting magnets are used to magnetically lift, fix and transport various loads such as sheets, iron parts or pipes. All variants for heavy loads from 100 kg are switchable and are permanently magnetic when the lever is actuated – without any power! This ensures safety when working with heavy workpieces, as the load cannot fall off the magnet in the event of a power failure.
Advantages of lifting magnets for industry:
- Increased safety: The risk of accidents at work is minimized because no manual lifting or additional tools are required.
- Time saving: With fast load changes and precise positioning, crane magnets speed up the production process.
- Cost-effective: With less manpower and less downtime, operating costs are reduced. Versatile: Lifting magnets can be used in many industries, from steel fabrication to ship production.
Crane magnets: Ideal for industrial use
A crane magnet is a special form of lifting magnet that is attached to a crane system. This makes it possible to safely transport large and heavy metal parts such as steel plates, beams or pipes from different heights. This offers significant advantages in heavy industry, construction or metal production. Crane magnets are able to move large loads quickly and precisely, which not only saves time but also increases the efficiency of workflows. They also significantly reduce the risk of accidents, as no additional gripping tools are required and the loads are held securely in place.
Our crane magnets are CE certified and come with comprehensive instructions for use and safety information. By improving workflows and increasing safety, they are an indispensable component in many production environments. Lifting magnets are the ideal solution for companies that prioritize efficiency and safety.
