Neodymium block magnets
A neodymium block magnet achieves very high adhesive forces with small dimensions. This is due to the NdFeB alloy from which our neodymium block magnets are made. The strong adhesive forces of these block magnets allow for the miniaturization of designs. For this reason, our block magnets are mainly used in model making, in carpentry and in plant construction.
We recommend installing them with glue – you can also find suitable magnetic glues in our assortment. Alternatively, installation with pressing or injection moulding is also possible.
If you are looking for block magnets to screw on, we recommend taking a look at our category magnets to screw on. Please do not drill a hole into a block magnet yourself. The material is brittle and can easily break during this process.

Buy neodymium magnet blocks from Magna-C
In our magnet shop, you will find a large selection of magnet blocks at affordable prices. We also have large quantities of large magnet blocks in stock and can guarantee fast and uncomplicated delivery.
Our smallest magnetic block 5x5x1.8mm has an adhesive force of 7.7 newtons (770g) and can be used to make creative magnetic clasps. These are particularly popular in the jewelry industry. One of our largest block magnets, measuring 40x40x10mm and with an adhesive force of 335 newtons (33.5 kg), impresses with its deep-acting magnetic field. This can also overcome a larger air gap. Ideal for applications where a distance needs to be bridged – for example, through a wooden plate.
The block magnet: Versatile applications
The application areas of a neodymium block magnet are diverse. The sectors include trade, carpentry, workshop, model making, mechanical engineering and medicine. When mounted on a tool wall, the block magnet can be used as a tool holder. It can securely hold screwdrivers, pliers and scissors. The block magnet can magnetically connect counterparts in models and machines. Great care is advised when handling larger block magnets! The high adhesive force and the deep magnetic field create an extreme attraction. Never hold fingers or small parts between the magnet and the counterpart. Also note the included safety tips for neodymium magnets.
Properties of neodymium block magnets
All our block magnets have the magnet quality N42 and are designed for temperatures up to 80°C. Higher temperatures quickly cause a loss of adhesive force or even destroy the magnet block. If you need heat-resistant magnets, we recommend samarium cobalt magnets. These are resistant up to 250°C and are also available as block magnets.
The block magnet is magnetized vertically, which means that the two poles are located on the large outer surfaces. Most of our block magnets are nickel-plated, a few still have a zinc coating. These are recognizable by their bluish tint – this information can also be found in the technical data.
You haven't found the right magnet block? No problem! You are welcome to send us a request with your technical requirements. Our magnet experts will work with you to find the perfect block magnet. If it is not in the standard range, we have the option of producing it.
