How does magnetic strip work?

Magnetic strip consists of a flexible carrier material into which finely ground magnetic powder (strontium ferrite powder) is incorporated. This is what gives magnetic strips their elasticity and magnetic properties. In addition, they are equipped with a white or colored cover film on one side. This cover film can be written on with water-soluble felt-tip pens and protects the magnetic foil underneath from damage. A magnetic strip can be individually cut to size with scissors or a cutter knife, opening up a range of possible uses.
