Neodymium flat bar magnets
A neodymium flat bar is characterized by its flat design, high holding force and holes for screwing on. The magnet sits in a U-profile made of steel and is thus protected and shielded. This means that the magnetic force only acts on the open holding surface.
We offer the flat bar magnet in different sizes and designs. With our ultra-flat bar, the highest holding forces can be achieved in the smallest of spaces. Perfect for holding doors, flaps and drawers. We also offer magnetic strips that are magnetic on both sides.

The flat bar magnet – design and function
Flat bar magnets are designed according to the same principle as pot magnets. The only difference is their rectangular shape.
The angular neodymium magnet is embedded in a steel profile and shielded all around. This means that no magnetism can escape through the shielded surfaces. The field lines of the magnet are diverted through the steel profile to the open holding surface, which increases the holding force.
For this reason, the flat bar magnet is stronger than a raw magnet of the same size.
The neodymium flat bar is extremely versatile in use. Typical applications include holding magnets for flaps and doors, as tool holders or connecting pieces for all kinds of structures. The flat bar magnet is ideal for all applications where strong holding forces are needed in a minimal space.
Neodymium flat bar for screwing on or double-sided magnetic
In our range, we mainly stock neodymium flat bars for screwing on. Depending on the design, they have two lateral holes in the U-profile, or the holes are integrated directly into the magnet.
The advantage of the first variant is that the magnet is not subjected to any load when it is screwed on. Neodymium magnets behave like porcelain and are brittle. When force is applied or if they are tightened too much, the magnets can splinter and break. The disadvantage is the loss of the magnet's adhesive surface, as a smaller magnet has to be used due to the design.
When using a neodymium flat bar with countersunk and conical borehole directly in the magnet, you have to be very careful when tightening the screw. However, you have a much larger holding surface available because a magnet is used along the full length of the U-profile.
Which variant is better suited for your application must be decided individually.
Alternatively, we also have long neodymium magnetic bars with bilateral magnetism in our assortment. This magnetic bar is very robust and does not need to be screwed on, as it adheres magnetically to the holding surface. Tools, for example, can be attached to the free surface.
Double-sided magnetic neodymium magnetic strips have an enormous adhesive force! Be sure to follow the safety instructions provided and handle these strips with extreme caution.
