Neodymium screw-on magnets
Strong magnets with counterbore and conical countersink are characterized by their flat design. Depending on the shape and size, the screw-on magnet has one central or two lateral boreholes. The flat design is hardly bulky and is ideal for applications with limited installation space. This makes screw-on magnets particularly popular in kitchen and furniture construction. If the appropriate holding surface is not available, we also have matching counterparts for magnets in our range. These holding plates can be screwed or glued depending on the design.
We have both round and square magnets in our range. We keep high quantities of these in stock. This enables us to guarantee fast delivery at affordable prices.

Screw-on magnets compared to regular neodymium magnets
The obvious difference between a screw-on magnet and a regular neodymium magnet is the countersunk hole. This shape is determined when the magnet is sintered. This means that screw-on magnets are pressed into this shape during production. The conical countersink is NOT drilled into the magnet afterwards because neodymium magnets are brittle. They would splinter and break apart during drilling.
For this reason, screw-on magnets are not meant to be made by yourself. If you buy neodymium disc magnets or block magnets without a borehole, you cannot drill a hole into the magnet afterwards. This would destroy the magnet. For more information and useful tips on the workability of magnets, please refer to our magnet encyclopedia. It's worth taking a look!
Examples of applications for screw-on magnets
The flat shape of our neodymium magnets with conical bore opens up many different application possibilities:
- They can be easily screwed into furniture, flaps and doors to hold them closed or open magnetically.
- The back of information signs can be magnetically equipped so that they can be flexibly exchanged.
- The same principle can be applied to advertising signs. Screw-on magnets make it easy to change advertising messages.
- Another popular application is a screw-on magnet as a tool holder. Mounted on a workshop wall, it holds your tools such as wrenches, pliers and screwdrivers magnetically. Larger sizes can even hold heavy objects like hammers.
Magnetic properties of screw-on magnets
Our neodymium magnets have the quality grade N42 and are heat-resistant up to 80°C. Please make sure that this temperature is not exceeded in your application. Exceeding the maximum operating temperature will cause an irreparable loss of holding force. Block magnets with a countersunk borehole are magnetized through the height. Their poles – that is, their magnetic holding surfaces – are located on the large outer surfaces. Our countersunk ring magnets are axially magnetized and also have their poles on the round outer surfaces.
When mounting, please make sure that the screw is not too coarse and is not tightened too hard. Neodymium screw-on magnets are very flat and can break if too much pressure is applied.
