Art. Nr: 81306
Permanent magnetic rail 200x40x35mm switchable
This permanent magnetic rail is permanently magnetic and loses its magnetic force when a DC voltage is applied. Ideal for handling systems with increased safety requirements, as the load cannot fall off in the event of a power failure and a short current pulse is sufficient to release the workpiece.

Areas of application
These magnets combine the advantages of permanent magnets with the flexibility of an electromagnet. They are used in numerous applications where reliable holding force without a continuous power supply is required, but simple control for releasing the load is still desired.
The mode of operation is based on the principle of magnetic flux control:
In its normal state, the permanent magnet generates a constant magnetic field that reliably attracts metallic loads. A coil is wound around this permanent magnet, which also generates a magnetic field when a current is applied. This counterfield reduces or neutralizes the magnetic field of the permanent magnet, causing the adhesive force to disappear or be greatly weakened. As a result, the load that was previously lifted magnetically is released.
This principle makes electrically switchable permanent magnets particularly energy-efficient and safe, as they maintain their adhesive force even in the event of a power failure and the load does not accidentally fall. The following applications benefit from these properties:
- Material handling: In metalworking, mechanical engineering, and warehouses, electrically switchable permanent magnets are used to safely lift, transport, and deposit metal plates and other ferrous workpieces by means of a short current pulse. They are often used in lifting devices with increased safety requirements.
- Assembly and mechanical engineering: In production and assembly lines, these magnets help to securely fix workpieces in place without the need for mechanical clamping devices. They are ideal for applications where sensitive surfaces need to be protected or where loads change frequently. During welding, milling, or drilling, they provide a stable holder that can be released quickly and in a controlled manner.
- Automation technology: Electrically switchable permanent magnets are used in robotic systems to grip, transport, and precisely position components. In automated production processes, they offer flexibility and safety, as the magnetic field is permanently active and can be neutralized by a short current pulse. This also makes them a particularly energy-efficient alternative to other lifting devices.
