Areas of application

Neodymium ring magnets are made of the powerful neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) alloy and offer exceptionally high holding force compared to conventional ferrite or AlNiCo magnets. The combination of impressive magnetization capability and high flux density makes neodymium one of the strongest magnetic materials on the market. These properties provide optimal conditions for applications where high magnetic force is required in the smallest of spaces: 

  • Sound technology and electronics: Neodymium ring magnets are indispensable in electrical engineering because they generate strong magnetic fields in a small space. In loudspeakers and headphones, they use their high magnetic density to move the membranes precisely, which improves sound quality and energy efficiency. They work in a similar way in microphones, where they convert the vibrations of the membrane into electrical signals. In sensors, ring magnets are crucial for detecting motion or position, for example in rotary encoders. 
  • Mechanical engineering: Neodymium ring magnets are widely used in mechanical engineering, especially in magnetic couplings that are used for contactless power transmission. These are particularly important in pump systems that convey liquids or gases without the need for a mechanical seal. This ensures a longer service life and greater leak-tightness. They are also used to fix and position tools or workpieces in machines.
